three safest 2009 cars




Subaru, and Volkswagen (VW) was named as the three safest cars by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS), Wednesday (18/11), from 19 car models that qualify. The safest car election IIHS version more stringent this year than last year because of security requirements on the roof.

Ford Motor Co. and Volvo (Ford shaded companies) won six awards, followed by Subaru and Volkswagen AG who won five awards. Chrysler Group LLC received four awards, followed by Honda Motor Co. and General Motors Co.. each of which won two awards.

Meanwhile, Toyota Motor Corp., BMW AG, Mazda Motor Corp., and Mitsubishi Motors Corp. returned empty-handed at the annual awards this IIHS. Ford won the award thanks to the Ford Taurus and Lincoln MKS for the passenger car category and the Volvo S80 and C30 for passenger cars and XC60 and XC90 for the safest SUV category.

Success thanks to Subaru Subaru Legacy, Outback, Impreza, Tribeca, and Forester. Subaru is the only brand that won awards in four different categories. In the meantime, thanks to the award-winning VW Jetta, Tiguan, Passat, and Golf and Audi A3.

Success thanks to Chrysler's Chrysler Sebring and Dodge Avenger sedans and the Dodge Journey to midsize SUV category and the Jeep Patriot. General Motors Co. and Honda Motor Co. each won two panghargaan. GM cars are the safest Buick LaCrosse and Chevrolet Malibu, while the win thanks to Honda Civic and Honda Element. Another car that won the IIHS is a Nissan Cube, Kia Soul, and Mercedes Benz C Class.

Cars were the most secure version of the IIHS rated protection front, sampaing, and nbelakang. All cars entering the nomination must be equipped with electronic stability control (ESC). [Tom]
